“Purity”
I’m kind of tired of being told by certain Christians and others that since I am not a virgin, I have nothing to offer my future husband.
I have many things to offer my future husband, including my personality, intelligence, passion, and plenty of love. Not being a virgin doesn’t mean I “gave away pieces of my heart.” It doesn’t even mean I made a mistake. There are boys I gave away pieces of my heart to that I have never even touched. My heart does not possess a finite amount of love, some of which disappears every time I have sex.
Although I respect the choice to remain a virgin until marriage, it was not my choice. Neither choice makes anyone less of a human being. Neither choice makes anyone better than anyone else.
And honestly, if all my future husband believes that I have to offer him is my “purity”, then he probably isn’t right for me anyway.
